Simon suffered with severe motion sickness, which I didn't fully appreciate until our family holiday to Paris in 2018. We went along to Disneyland for the day, and I persuaded him to come on a ride with me and the children. I genuinely thought this was going to be a gentle water ride, even though the name of the ride suggested it might be a roller-coaster, which Simon would not have entertained the idea of going on. It was a fast, twisty roller-coaster and, even worse, the cars we sat in also rotated, to further upset Simon's motion sickness. I could hear him behind me during the ride making lots of loud moaning noises - I thought he was just kidding though. When we got off the ride, Simon looked so sick, and nothing we could do would help him. In the end we had to take him along to Disney A&E (they really do have a first aid centre!) and he lay on a bed in there for 2 hours while being attended by Disney first aiders. Me and the children went off to have more Disney fun while poor Simon was suffering... Not "the most magical place" for him!
