Even though we all lived together in the same place and worked at the same place, each of us did have their own transport. I had sometimes a car and sometimes a motorbike. Dave & Houtan both had cars and I can’t exactly remember when Simon passed his test and decided to buy a car too. This was an exciting decision to be made and Simon wanted something cool to go with his personality.

In the end, he went ahead a bought a bl@@dy mini, ain’t it. (it would be better if you read the previous sentence in the voice of Michael Caine). We shook our heads and tut tutted but Simon was happy. It worked for about 2 months before it started having mechanical problems. We would fix it but it would soon go wrong again. One day the floor pan fell out (it was rusted through) and you could see the road under your feet. That was the last straw and Simon accepted our feedback that his choice of car even if cool was “questionable”.
