I’d like to echo Simon’s close friends and family’s comments at today’s funeral, and their shared memories are similar to my fondest, his:
- Humour and bad jokes
- Love of photography – on a work trip to Dusseldorf he insisted we all go to the top of the Rheinturm for the views and once we were there added we needed to then wait around for the perfect sunset photo
- Strong opinion – in particular, the is a burger a sandwich debate
- Best travel buddy – whenever we travelled anywhere he made sure he’d researched the best restaurants and bars to go to, and never disappointed with his suggestions
Work-wise, Simon brought a great deal to the Grow Medtech team – he and I shared a strong ethos in collaboration, transparency, and sharing ways of working. He was never afraid to challenge the status quo and stand up for what he believed in and passionately championed the projects he supported.
I’m grateful I got the opportunity to not only work with Simon but also to know him.
You will be missed Simon.
